The 7 Movements
MOVEMENT 1: RHYTHM (Energy)
“The beat that drives everything”
Your rhythm is your physical foundation – the pulse that keeps you moving.
Musical Elements:
- Tempo (pace of life)
- Beat (daily energy)
- Groove (flow states)
- Rest (recovery)
Key Questions:
- Is your tempo sustainable?
- Do you have enough beats per day?
- Are you in the groove or forcing it?
- When do you rest?
Composition Exercise: “What’s the tempo of your ideal day? Write out the BPM of each hour.”
MOVEMENT 2: MELODY (Mind)
“The tune that runs through your thoughts”
Your melody is your mental and emotional life – the music playing in your head.
Musical Elements:
- Notes (individual thoughts)
- Phrases (thought patterns)
- Motifs (recurring themes)
- Key signature (emotional baseline)
Key Questions:
- What melody plays on repeat?
- Is it in a major or minor key?
- What motifs keep returning?
- Can you change the key?
Composition Exercise: “If your dominant thought pattern were a melody, would you want to listen to it? Write a new one.”
MOVEMENT 3: HARMONY (Soul)
“When all parts align in resonance”
Your harmony is when your values, actions, and purpose align – true consonance.
Musical Elements:
- Chords (aligned elements)
- Consonance (agreement)
- Dissonance (conflict)
- Resolution (alignment)
Key Questions:
- What creates harmony in your life?
- Where do you feel dissonance?
- What needs to resolve?
- What’s your root chord (core value)?
Composition Exercise: “List your top 5 values as notes in a chord. Do they sound good together?”
MOVEMENT 4: COMPOSITION (Craft)
“The art you create and share”
Your composition is your creative output – the music you make for the world.
Musical Elements:
- Arrangement (structure of work)
- Instrumentation (tools and skills)
- Production (quality and polish)
- Performance (delivery)
Key Questions:
- What are you composing?
- Do you have the right instruments?
- Is your production quality improving?
- Are you performing or just rehearsing?
Composition Exercise: “Write the tracklist of your creative output this year. What’s the album called?”
MOVEMENT 5: AMPLIFICATION (Capital)
“How far your music travels”
Your amplification is your reach and resources – turning up the volume on your impact.
Musical Elements:
- Volume (reach)
- Channels (distribution)
- Production value (investment)
- Royalties (returns)
Key Questions:
- How loud is your signal?
- What channels carry your music?
- Are you investing in production?
- Are you earning from your art?
Composition Exercise: “If your creative work were on a mixing board, which faders need to come up?”
MOVEMENT 6: ENSEMBLE (Circle)
“The players in your orchestra”
Your ensemble is your relationships – the musicians who play alongside you.
Musical Elements:
- Orchestra (full team)
- Section (close collaborators)
- Duets (partnerships)
- Solo (individual work)
Key Questions:
- Who’s in your orchestra?
- Is each section strong?
- Who do you duet with?
- When do you solo?
Composition Exercise: “Cast your orchestra. Who plays what? Who’s missing?”
MOVEMENT 7: MASTERWORK (Legacy)
“The symphony you leave behind”
Your masterwork is your complete opus – the full integration of all movements.
Musical Elements:
- Opus (complete work)
- Movements (integrated parts)
- Theme (unified message)
- Finale (conclusion)
Key Questions:
- What’s your magnum opus?
- How do the movements connect?
- What’s the unifying theme?
- What finale are you writing toward?
